ORGANISERS of the Jane Tomlinson 10k Run for All are hoping up to 12,000 runners will take to the streets of Leeds next
summer.
This year's event attracted 8,000 but organisers are hoping to get health and safety clearance to increase the
maximum numbers allowed in time for the event on Sunday, June 22.
Event director Graeme Hodgson said: "We want to increase the capacity to 10 or 12,000, which will be a fantastic legacy for Jane."
Businesses across Yorkshire were urged yesterday by Mike Tomlinson and Leeds runner Tracey Morris to enter teams into the run.
The best corporate fundraiser this year was Clarion Solicitors, who have sponsored the corporate challenge.
Mark Burns of Clarion Solicitors said: "The Run For All Corporate Challenge is a fantastic way for businesses to encourage their staff to enter the Leeds 10k charity event and join with over 10,000 other competitors in raising an enormous sum of money for good causes. We are challenging businesses from Yorkshire and further afield to get involved in the big day by entering a team in the race."
Mr Tomlinson said: "We're gearing ourselves up for a bigger event next year and we're really looking forward to it.
"I can't think of a better way of celebrating Leeds, the city, and raising a boatload of money for charity."
