IF YOU want to take part in the Leeds 10k but are not up to completing the course, then you can still play a role.
No event of this scale could be a success without the support of enthusiastic volunteers to help organise the competitors, hand out vital drinks to weary runners, as well as taking care of baggage and handing out the timing chips to competitors.
Race organisers are looking to recruit people to help out in one of four activities:
Pre-race volunteers - to help competitors, take care of baggage and hand out timing chips Race marshalls - to manage the crowds of spectators, guide runners through the course and help any competitors experiencing difficulty.Water station volunteers - are needed to hand out drinks to competitors at water stations throughout the route. End of race volunteers - to congratulate runners at the end of the race, ensure they move quickly through the finish area, hand out race mementoes and ruinite competitors with baggage and their proud friends and family.
