All the Colours of Darkness - Peter Robinson

WHILE he have been surrounded by some of the world's most striking landscapes in his adopted country of Canada, it was the sense of longing for the scenery of his homeland that led Peter Robinson to set his detective novels in Yorkshire.

Twenty one years later, Inspector Alan Banks is one of Britain's best loved fictional detectives, with Robinson firmly established at the top echelons of British crime writing.

In this OutLoud interview, recorded at the 2008 Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate, Robinson discusses the early origins of Banks, his fondness for the character, how the books are closely woven with his own love of music and Yorkshire, and his latest novel, All the Colours of Darkness.
