Food Matters: New agriculture centre launched
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society today unveils its sustainably-built £5.1m Regional Agricultural Centre.
The project aims to provide a focus for agriculture in the North of England and inject new life into the rural economy. It will also support the region's farmers and producers.
The centre will be home to Fodder, the new regional food shop and caf set up and championed by the YAS as well as Growing Routes, the Society's initiative which supports entrepreneurial farmers and The Food and Farming Forum which
delivers the region's response to Defra's Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food (SSFF). It is also the base for the Yorkshire Rural Support Network, supported by the YAS. The Centre is located at the edge of the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
