BIRSTALL clinched the Premier Division championship for the first time since 2002 with a 10-wicket win over Scholes.
Matthew Barnes's defiant 34 was in vain as bottom team Scholes were routed for 67 by John Carruthers (5-34).

Rob McFarlane (44no) and Mick Kaye (20no) shared an unbroken 68-run stand as Birstall knocked off the runs in just 6.4 overs.

Birstall
finished six points ahead of Wrenthorpe who led the table nearly all season but suffered a five-wicket defeat at Methley on the final day.

Vic Craven (4-22), Eugene Burzler (3-20) and Chris Leaf (3-33) skittled Wrenthorpe for 78.

Gary Fellows (3-23) reduced third-placed Methley's reply to 37-4 before Ryan Bradshaw (23no) steered them home.

Wakefield Thornes finished in fourth place in their first season in the top flight after beating Ossett.

Mirfield Parish Cavaliers racked up the day's highest total of 254-7 against lowly Northowram Fields who were toppled for 125 in reply.

Batley climbed out of the bottom two with a five-wicket victory over New Farnley who were restricted to 107-6 by Tariq Hussain (3-46) and Mohammed Hafeez (2-26).

There was no play in the Liversedge-Townville match because the pitch was unfit.

Altofts lifted the First Division championship by winning a low-scoring game at Hunslet Nelson. Hunslet looked handily placed when Glen Thompson (4-25), Danny Calverley (3-24) and Sohail Raz (2-34) bowled out Altofts for 114.

Altofts were indebted to Alistair Richardson for a battling 43 as they recovered from 59-6.

In reply, Hunslet were sent reeling from 30-0 to 75 all out by Australian Luke Popov (5-22) and Tom Mason (4-34).

Mujahid Hameed (50no) and Duncan Arnolda (48no) guided second-placed East Ardsley to an eight-wicket victory at Carlton. Tom Chester, Mark Heald and Arnolda each claimed three wickets as Carlton collapsed from 45-0 to 110 all out.

Stanley lost their unbeaten league record with a five-wicket defeat at Wakefield St Michael's.
