for the fastest solo row across the Atlantic, which he completed in 64 days 10hr 48min.
The university's Carnegie Research Institute, which operates across a wide range of sport and education issues, provided him with nutritional and psychological support and advice before he embarked on his mission. Mr Schonfeld kept in contact with him during his row.
Mr Munslow, 28, from Monmouth, South Wales, returned to Leeds yesterday with his boat Carnegie X-stream at the Acre on the university's campus.
Rowing across the Atlantic had been his dream since he was 15, taking inspiration from Tom Mclean, the first man to complete the feat.
During his 66 days his boat capsized on several occasions and he also lost his drinking water supply before arriving safely back on dry land.
