Bradford University Ph.D student Hannah Russ, 25, from Wakefield, gets to grip with a trout as she uses stone age technology to gut the fish with flint tools.
The ancient cooking techniques were on show at an event designed to bring bygone ages alive, which also featured hair dressing tips Viking style and DIY classes in chariot making.
Graduates from York College served up authentic Roman food as part of the programme to show the past in action at the Yorkshire Museum
in York.
In front of the museum, they used pots and an oven based on Roman artefacts found in Pompeii to prepare authentic meals of chicken, lamb, barley and other ingredients. Picture: Mike Cowling.
