New commercial units at Crosshills, near Keighley, will boost the local economy, the developer says.

Skipton Properties will build 29 business units in Riparian Way as an extension to Crossings Business Park after securing Craven District Council backing.

Managing director Brian Verity said the units were a "great coup for Crosshills".

"The Cr
ossings business park is already a thriving hotspot for small-medium local and regional businesses and these additional units will only bring more to the area, which in turn will boost the local economy," he said.

The new development is aimed towards small and medium-sized owner occupier businesses.

The two storey units vary in size from 1,612 sq ft to 3,006 sq ft and incorporate work spaces/ potential office, kitchen and toilets.

Ian Hayfield, director of property agents Hayfield Robinson, said: "We work very closely with Skipton Properties and believe these units are the best design for this area. In the current market place there is more of a demand for smaller light industrial business units from both local and regional owner occupiers.

"The premium location, adjacent to open countryside yet immediately accessible for the Aire Valley trunk road, led Skipton Properties to believe this was the right product for this site."
