Deborah Green, chief executive of Marketing Leeds, tries out a new city guide for mobile phones in the Victoria Quarter.

LeedsCast, which uses Bluetooth technology, is said to be the world's first virtual-city guide and can be viewed at various locations, including Millennium Square, the bus and train stations, Leeds Central Library, The Light and Victoria Quarter – with more locations set to follow.

Information includes place of interest, contact numbers, details of shops, restaurants, hotels and bars and walking directions using gogo, a mobile messaging system which uses Bluetooth, making downloads and updates free to receive. Details can be found www.leedscast.
