FASHION icon Vivienne Westwood is holding an exclusive audience at Sheffield Hallam University on the eve of an exhibition of her work in the city.
At 3pm on Wednesday, May 28 the designer will read her manifesto, Active Resistance to Propaganda, along with 26 characters including Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio played out by performance arts students.

Dame Vivienne says the manifesto "pene
trates to the root of the human predicament and offers the underlying solution".

The event will take place in the university's Pennine Theatre at City Campus the day before a retrospective of her work opens at the Millennium Gallery.

University director of corporate communications John Palmer said: "We're very excited about Vivienne Westwood choosing to present her manifesto here.

"In conjunction with Museums Sheffield and local performing arts students we're looking forward to welcoming her to the city, confident that the event will be one to remember for a long time to come."

Tickets for the event are free but must be reserved in advance. Free refreshments will be served. To book call 0114 225 4957.

The V&A exhibition runs at the Millennium Gallery from May 29 to September 21. Tickets cost £6; £4 for concessions and £1 for children.
