Two years ago Kanye West made something of a fool of himself.

Having garnered a reputation for having an ego that was out of control, he jumped on stage and launched a tirade of abuse into the microphones at the MTV video music awards when he didn't win the category in which he had been nominated.

Fans hope
the world's biggest hip hop star jumps on stage and launches a tirade of hits when he's in Sheffield tonight.

The rapper, who this year did win an award at the MTV VMA awards held in Liverpool last week, plays the city's arena tonight as part of his Glow in the Dark Tour.

A visionary live music artist, West's Glow in the Dark show has achieved critical acclaim cross the world.

This will be the first time UK fans can watch the new show that has been touring the globe. West's atypical hip hop set design includes a robot designed by acclaimed artist Christian Colon, creatures designed by the legendary Jim Henson creature store, as well as Daft Punk's Pyramid.

The show is further proof the West is not your average hip hop star – the politically switched on rapper considers himself a true artist.

When the Glow in the Dark show was unveiled in Los Angeles, the LA Times compared the staging to Wagner's Ring Cycle, while the New York Times said it was the "most daring arena spectacle hip-hop has yet produced".

Bridging the worlds of pop and hip hop, Kanye West is considered to be music's most innovative and inventive rap artists of all time.

Kanye West's latest album Graduation, is laden with futuristic-electro beats featured alongside Kanye's signature wordplay and catchy hooks.

The debut single Stronger sampled Daft Punk's classic Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and was a worldwide hit. Kanye West's last album, 2005's Late Registration, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts with over 860,000 copies sold in its first week of release, was nominated for the Grammy for Album of The Year, and won the Grammy for Rap Album of The Year.

Some tickets for tonight's Sheffield show may still be available by calling 0114 256 56 56.
