Clegg Construction has secured two new contracts worth over £14m in Yorkshire.

They include an £8 million contract at Solly Street Sheffield for premium student accommodation provider, Empiric who own and operate student accommodation nationwide. This scheme involves the design and construction of 107 student rooms in four separate blocks and is due for completion summer of next year ready for the 2017 student intake.

Empiric is an internally managed UK REIT investing in premium student accommodation in the UK and was listed on the Main Market of the LSE in June 2014.

Clegg has already delivered over 1200 student accommodation units in Sheffield over the past 7 years in four separate projects with an aggregated construction value of £44million. The company is also currently working on a £3.5m scheme for the University of Sheffield to provide an extension to its Casting Technology Institute, which will create the largest ceramic shell mould facility in Europe when completed.

Clegg is also appointed to deliver a £6.3m new headquarters building at Calder Park, Wakefield for OE Electrics, which designs and manufacturers power and data distribution units across commercial sectors including office, education and healthcare.

Business development manager, John Dixon, said: “These latest appointments reflect our growing profile in the area and the diverse sectors in which we operate.”
