A biker who lost his sight after a horrific road accident has smashed the world record making him the fastest blind and disabled motorcyclist on the planet. Stuart Gunn, 39, who is registered blind and paralysed from the waist down, reached 167.1 miles per hour at Elvington Airfield.
Stuart broke his back in two places, shattered several ribs and his shoulder, and was paralysed across the right side of his body after the crash in 2002. Seven years later, following a violent seizure, he lost his sight. Yesterday he was back in hospital after suffering back injuries falling off his bike as he tried to improve on the record - at a stately 10mph. A spokesman said he was expected to be discharged later yesterday.
