A YORKSHIRE author has won a prestigious sports writing prize for the second time in three years for his biography of controversial cricketer Harold Larwood.
Duncan Hamilton, formerly deputy editor of the Yorkshire Post, is only the second person to have won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award twice.
The author, who lives in Menston, first picked up the prize in 2007 for his book about Brian Clough, Provided You Don't Kiss Me.
Harold Larwood is the first biography of the fast bowler involved in the infamous 'Bodyline' Ashes series of 1932-33.
Mr Hamilton received a £21,000 cheque, a £2,000 William Hill bet, a hand-bound copy of his book and a day at the races for winning the award.
