Four family members found guilty of failing to help a young woman who was beaten to death in their house have been told to prepare for jail.
Sabia Rani, 19, was killed after systematic abuse by her husband Shazad Khan, 25, at their home in Leeds.
On Tuesday Khan's mother Phullan Bibi, 52, two of his sisters, Uzma Khan, 23, and Nazia Naureen, 28, and Naureen's husband Majid Hussain, 28, were found guilty of allowing the death of a vulnerable adult.
Khan was convicted of his wife's murder one year ago after she was discovered with bruising to 90 per cent of her body and up to 15 broken ribs.
The four defendants looked tired and upset as they returned to the dock at Leeds Crown Court yesterday after a violent outburst on Tuesday at the jury's verdicts.
Judge James Stewart QC released the family on conditional bail, telling them: "You have been convicted by the jury of allowing a death. I will sentence you in respect of that offence during the week commencing March 10.
"You should all return to the court in preparation for a custodial sentence."
The family, who all live in the same house in Oakwood Grange, Roundhay, were told to surrender their passports and report twice a week to a local police station.
