FAMILY and friends of one of Rugby League's finest scrum halves today paid their respects to Don Fox whose funeral took place in Sharlston today.
People stood outside St Luke's Church while the service was relayed to fans on loud speakers. Those attending included John Kear, coach of Wakefield Trinity.

Fox was a prolific scorer during an 18-year career with Featherstone, Wakefield, Batley and Great Britain. However, he is best remembered for the 1968 Rugby League Challenge Cup final at Wembley, when he missed what would have been the winning conversion to a last-minute try by his Wakefield team-mate Ken Hirst.

It was won 11-10 by Leeds after Fox's kick attempt in front of the posts squirted wide.
