Five American astronauts, guests of Craven College, Skipton, ride with mayor Chris Harbron on a trailer as part of a parade to the Auction Mart from the High Street yesterday.
Mission Commander Lee Archambault and his crew, Joseph Acaba, Steve Swanson, Tony Antonelli and John Phillips, gave presentations at the Auction Mart to 800 primary school students in the morning and 800 secondary school students in the afternoon. The astronauts returned from their mission on the space shuttle Discovery in March this year. During their visit they also toured Skipton Castle.
