A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded in custody accused of injuring a police officer who was trying to stop a stolen minibus in East Yorkshire.
David Lloyd Myers, of Springfield View, Pontefract, appeared at Beverley Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the incident in the town on Saturday morning.

The police officer suffered injuries to his nose and face as he tried to stop the 24-seat Mercedes minibus, which had been reported stolen from the West Yorkshire area.

Myers was arrested in the Westwood area of Beverley after police used a stinger device to stop the vehicle.

He was later charged with wounding with intent, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Magistrates remanded Myers into custody to appear before Hull Crown Court on May 19.
