A SECURITY guard was ambushed early yesterday as he delivered money to a cash machine at a petrol station in Saltaire.

The robber approached the guard from behind as he took a cash bag from his van, at the Shell petrol station on Bingley Road.
He pushed the guard to the floor, grabbed the bag and ran off. It is believed the robber then left in a vehicle which was seen heading towards Cottingley.
The guard was bruised and shaken by the incident.
