Anti-terrorism police will continue to search a Leeds flat for several more days.

The one-bedroom property in Shepherd's Lane, Harehills, was raided on Wednesday morning by police investigating the July 7 London bombings.

Police are investigating whether the four bombers used the flat as a base, either for meetings or to make the bombs. Officers have shown photos of the four bombers to residents on Shepherd's Lane and asked if they had ever seen them locally.

Police are still investigating whether anyone else knew about the plans.

Police do not believe any of the bombers – whose backgrounds have been thoroughly checked – ever lived at the Harehills flat.

But forensic traces may reveal evidence that an associate of the bombers used the flat in the days after the explosions. The search is expected to take several days to complete.

The current occupier has no connection with the inquiry.

Anyone with information should call 0800 789 321.
