Detectives have been investigating whether a man suspected of fatally stabbing his three-year-old son is related to a wanted evangelist.

Officers were examining possible family ties between Paul Otieno, 31, and flamboyant millionaire pastor Gilbert Deya.

Kenyan prosecutors want to put Mr Deya on trial over claims he abducted "miracle babies" and handed them to infertile followers in the UK.

After being arrested several times by Scotland Yard officers, he continues to battle against extradition from this country.

Otieno remained under arrest in hospital yesterday in a serious condition after attempting to kill himself. He has wounds to his throat and body.
