A MAN has been arrested in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl in a West Yorkshire car park.
The 25-year-old man, from Headingley, Leeds, is being questioned by detectives on suspicion of rape after an attack in Otley.

It took place in the car park of William Sinclair & Sons stationers, which runs between the rear of North Parade and North Street.

It is believed the girl's attacker followed her after both got off a bus from Leeds city centre on Monday.

West Yorkshire Police said the girl boarded the X84 service from the main bus station in Leeds at about 6.40pm and it is believed her attacker was also on this bus.

The bus arrived in Otley at about 7.25pm and the victim was followed down Boroughgate by the suspect to the scene of the attack.

Detective Superintendent Steve Payne said: "We want to appeal to any passengers that were on the X84 service who joined it between Leeds bus station and Otley.

"It is vitally important that people come forward and speak to us even if they don't think they necessarily saw anything of use to us.

"We are also very keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Otley bus station around the relevant time or in the area of the William Sinclair & Sons car park."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives via the helpdesk at Weetwood police station on 0113 241 3459 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
