A supermarket banned a fund-raising calendar with a "saucy Victorian" theme after it offended a "prude old woman", a charity has claimed.

Twelve women from Wroughton, near Swindon, Wiltshire, dressed up in late 19th century lingerie for the calendar, hoping they could raise some cash for charity CLIC Sargent which cares for young people
with cancer.

But the women were dismayed when they learned their local supermarket – the Co-op – banned the sale of the calendar, which it had earlier agreed to sell.
