The Prince of Wales said yesterday he was "deeply shocked and saddened" that a war memorial he rededicated after it was wrecked by vandals has been desecrated again.
Charles visited the rebuilt memorial outside St Michael and All Angels' Church, Cottingley, near Bradford, West Yorkshire last September after hearing that the figure of Christ had been vandalised. Now it has been damaged again.
A St James's Palace spokesman said the Prince was writing to the vicar, the Rev Sue Pinnington, and would continue to take an interest in the memorial.
