A man was stabbed to death in front of scores of passers-by in Britain's most famous shopping street yesterday.
The 22-year-old was murdered after leaving a McDonald's restaurant in bustling Oxford Street in London yesterday afternoon. He was taken by ambulance to hospital, but was dead on
arrival.

There were no immediate arrests, but detectives were interviewing the many eyewitnesses to the stabbing, which took place outside the McDonald's near Oxford Circus Tube station, just before 5pm.

There was initial speculation that the victim was a security guard at a store. But a source said he was a member of the public who had been in the restaurant before the attack. One witness said: "I heard screaming and then saw a couple of black guys run past us."

McDonald's said none of their staff were involved in the incident.
