Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has launched its first "Buy Now Free Next Time promotion".

The offer, which applies to Pampers nappies and Sainsbury's white crusty baguettes, started runs until Tuesday.

If people buy the item they will get given a coupon offering them the same thing free the next time they visit. The promotion is being trialled in more than 470 stores across the country and customers will be able to redeem their coupons within two weeks of purchase.

The chain will then measure customer reaction.

There will be a limit of four packs of nappies or baguettes per customer in a transaction.
