The director of Bradford Playhouse has defended the decision to host a controversial bid by a dance artist to induce an epileptic fit.
Rita Marcalo has provoked strong criticism over her plans to invite the audience to film her having a seizure during her 24-hour "performance" next month.

But Playhouse chief Eleanor Barrett said the board, staff and volunteer team are "wholeheartedly supportive of the event".

She added: "This project raises awareness of a disability through the artist's personal experience of epilepsy, and the Bradford Playhouse supports this."
