60 more staff axed at Rosebys
SIXTY staff have lost their jobs at Rosebys, the home furnishings retail chain which went into administration last week.
Ten of the group's 280 stores were closed yesterday and staff there told this morning that their jobs had gone.
The move by administrators KPMG follows 32 redundancies from Rosebys head office and its merchandising team last Tuesday.
Joint administrator Howard Smith said 45 expressions of interest in the business had been received to date and he was liaising with interested parties.
He said: "There has been significant interest in this business though a deliverable deal has not yet proved possible. We continue to seek offers for the whole or any part of the business and are in discussions with a number of interested parties.
"Closing some of the poorer performing outlets has been unavoidable to ensure trading remains at profitable levels."
The stores to go are in Dunstable, Basildon, Swindon, Brighton, Wood Green, Sutton Coldfield, Oldham, Leicester and two in Glasgow.
