Actress to give talk at literary festival

ACTRESS Sheila Hancock will give a talk at Sheffield Hallam University's Pennine Lecture Theatre tomorrow as part of the city's Off the Shelf literary festival.

She will talk to broadcaster Trisha Cooper about her new book, Just Me, which focuses on her life following the death of her husband, actor John Thaw.

The book is the actress's second and follows her previous publication, The Two of Us.

John Palmer, from Sheffield Hallam University, said: "We are delighted to welcome Sheila Hancock and Trisha Cooper to Sheffield Hallam as part of Off the Shelf.

"The event forms part of our Fusion festival of events through which Sheffield Hallam is celebrating its enduring creative talents and the university's contribution to the creative future of the city and South Yorkshire.

"Our programme of events regularly attracts some if the most influential figures from the arts, media, sport and business.

"Later in the month, Sheffield Hallam and Off the Shelf will greet one of the BBC,s most recognizable faces, Jeremy Bowen, and screenwriter of some of the UK's best-loved TV and film productions Andrew Davies."

The event begins at 7.30pm and tickets cost 9 for adults or 7 for concessions.
