Athletes call on runners to join-in 24-hour fundraiser
ATHLETES behind a 24-hour relay race in aid of the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity have appealed to other runners to sign up for their gruelling endurance challenge.
The event, between June 27 and 28 in Rother Valley Country Park, will see four teams of runners take it in turns to run laps of the visitor attraction.
Organiser Jenny Lippitt, a member, of the Killamarsh Kestrels athletics club said members would cover around 30 miles over 24 hours.
She added: "We hope as many people as possible will come down on the day, join or form a team, and run round Rother Valley as many times as possible for the cause."
Previous fund-raising efforts by the club have included running to Skegness and back, running from Bristol to Sheffield and tackling a coast-to-coast run.
