Business thinker shares his success

ENTREPRENEUR Jonathan Hick, star of the Channel 4 show Secret Millionaire, will be at Sheffield Hallam University today to share the secrets of his success.

Mr Hick, who founded the Directorbank company which recruits directors for Britain's boardrooms, will say that while entrepreneurs may come up with good ideas for a business they may not necessarily have the talent to run the business itself.

The speech is part of a breakfast event being held at the university's Stoddart Building to mark the regional launch of the Sheffield Business School.

Mr Hick said: "Creating a successful business is not just about having the idea itself – that's just a part of it. The management and structure of the firm is, I would say, just as important.

"That's why the entrepreneur should develop a strong, highly skilled team to actually manage the business. That's what I have done and that's what I will be talking about."

Pro vice-chancellor of Sheffield Business School Prof Chris Booth said: "His speech will chime well with our aims to support people to develop successful business skills and creative and innovative thinking."
