Caravan towing crash caused motorway delays
DRIVERS are being warned of long tailbacks on the M62 after a 4x4 pulling a caravan jacknifed and plunged down an embankment.
Police said fire crews managed to rescue a couple in their 70s from the vehicle and ambulance crews took them to Dewsbury and District Hospital.
Their injuries were not thought to be serious. The woman suffered a minor leg injury.
The crash, shortly before noon today, led to long tailbacks of queuing traffic from the Chain Bar area.
The Highways Agency said the accident was still causing delays of 50 minutes to motorists but normal traffic conditions will resume from about 4.30pm.
