Chance to have your say about NHS care in region

TODAY the Yorkshire Post is canvassing views on the NHS and changes you think should be made.

Over the last week, we have been running a series of articles, under the Healthier Yorkshire banner, on the growing health divide between rich and poor in Yorkshire.

Now we have launched a major to give everyone the chance to have a say on what they think of the NHS and what improvements they believe should be made for the future.

Questions look at how you rate the NHS, how far patients should travel for treatment and what the NHS needs to focus on to improve health.

It will gauge people's attitudes to improving health and the future of the NHS.

The survey is launched as a new report pledges to tackle the huge toll of death and disease in deprived communities.

Reducing rates of strokes and diabetes are among key priorities drawn up by health chiefs.

The targets are likely to lead to further pressure for hugely controversial restructuring of services which will see more routine care delivered in GP practices and community hospitals but more complex treatment provided in regional centres.

Specialist trauma care for seriously injured patients, A&E services and maternity care will be among areas which will see a shake-up.

Already similar proposals have led to massive public opposition and are proving a major headache for Ministers.

Our survey has now closed. Thank you for your interest. If you wish to alert us to a particular problem with your local health service, or to problems you encountered at hospital, email the Yorkshire Post newsdesk>>.
