College ready to run for Jane
Mike Tomlinson joined staff and students from Leeds City College for the final stages of training for the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k Run for All. They have been training for the race for the last three months and the team now includes more than 115 members.
David Fell, the deputy principal of the college's Park Lane campus, described Mrs Tomlinson, who died in 2007, as "an inspirational character". The Park Lane campus managed to recruit a team of 60 for last year's race and the number has nearly doubled for this month's event.
Mr Fell said: "It's been a great exercise at bringing our new college together whilst doing something really worthwhile." The Yorkshire Post is a media partner of the Leeds 10k, which takes place on Sunday, June 21.
