Dales fun costs big spender £20,000
Andrew Robinson ONE of Britain's biggest spenders threw a £20,000 party in a Dales town not normally noted for star-studded bashes.
Manchester-based millionaire Scott Alexander, 31, hired Rooder nightclub in Skipton's Rendezvous Hotel for a private party last Saturday night when about 100 guests got through 43 bottles of Christal champagne.
Mr Alexander, who earlier this month starred in a TV documentary called Britain's Biggest Spenders, arrived at the party in a helicopter.
The event was kept hush-hush by club owner Charlie Weaver until all the guests and their expensive cars had gone.
Mr Weaver, 23, from Burnley, said Mr Alexander attended Rooder's opening party in May and a few days later telephoned out of the blue to book it for a private party.
"He brought his own DJs and security," said Mr Weaver. "There were about 100 people there – it was very chilled out. The cars they arrived in were unbelievable.
"The guests were popping Christal like it was water. They had chocolate fountains, Beluga caviar and a waitress service.
"He loved the club and had a nice time. I think it was quite refreshing for him and his friends to get out of Manchester city centre and into the middle of nowhere. He said he likes the place."
Mr Weaver declined to say which celebrities were at the party but hinted that soap stars may have been among them.
He is expecting Mr Alexander to be back some time in the future.
The club's promotions manager, Jamie Harvey, joked: "Skipton could well be featuring in the paparazzi schedule before too long."
During the ITV show Mr Alexander talked about spending 100,000 a month, much of it on designer clothes and jewellery.
The fitness fanatic revealed he had spent 55,000 on his teeth and was buying a town in Bulgaria for 3m which he plans to rename Alexander.
The lifestyle and property tycoon owns several cars, including a Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin, and says he only goes out with glamour models.
