Dressage champion saddles up to give public lecture at college
DRESSAGE star Emile Faurie will give an insight into his sport in a public demonstration lecture at Bishop Burton College next week.
Mr Faurie, a European gold medallist at last year’s European Dressage Championships and leading trainer, will reveal some of his training techniques and talk about his career in his presentation, The Development of the Dressage Horse, next Friday from 7pm.
Kim Knightley, the college’s equine director, urged anyone with an interest in dressage to attend.
She said: “Emile Faurie is one of the country’s best equestrian athletes and it’s a fantastic honour to be able to host him and his horses at the college.
“He’s a very talented horseman with some great experiences to share and I’m sure he’ll be handing out some invaluable tips and techniques to keep your horse in top condition, whether you’re a dressage rider or not.
“In this busy year, with the build up to the Olympics, we are delighted Emile has found time to visit us and I would urge anyone with an interest in dressage or riding to come along.”
Mr Faurie has represented Great Britain at World, European and Olympic level and runs his own training livery yard in the Cotswolds. He has trained many horses to Grand Prix having won Team European Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals and Individual European Bronze on “Virtu.”
He recently visited the college to watch young riders benefiting from his charity The Emile Faurie Foundation.
Tickets for the event cost £25 in advance or £30 on the door. To book call (01964) 553087.
