From horticulture to haute couture
Taking inspiration from revolutionary Russia to the paintings of Turner, the Fashion Pavilion catwalk is proving to be a massive star turn at this year's Great Yorkshire Show – with this eye-catching red jacket dress, inspired by Les Ballets Russes, and the work of Craven College foundation diploma student Holly Gill being a prime example.
Fashion has become an increasingly important attraction in recent years as the county's leading designers and retailer have become eager to show their creations to its specialist but style-hungry audience.
It is now also a launchpad for Yorkshire's student designers, with the top talent especially selected from the colleges' end-of-year shows to present their collections. Picture: James Hardisty
