Great escape for performer inspired by Houdini trick
Escapologist Danny Hunt performed his latest death-defying stunt in Yorkshire yesterday – freeing himself from a bucket of water.
Inspired by Houdini's famous water torture cell trick, Mr Hunt, 30, was suspended upside down with his head submerged in the Perspex tub.
His task was to escape from handcuffs, two stocks and four padlocks, freeing himself from the fast-filling container before drowning.
Mr Hunt, from Scarborough, has previously escaped from prison cells, straitjackets, and boxes – and has performed with such acts as Freddie Starr, Bradley Walsh and the Chuckle Brothers.
He was performing at the Scarborough Sea Life Centre yesterday to mark the arrival of a new giant pacific octopus to the attraction.
