Hawley makes his Crucible debut
A "HOUSEWARMING" season of events at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre continues tonight with a performance from one of the city's best-known songwriters, Richard Hawley.
Mercury Music Prize nominee Mr Hawley will be making his debut on the Crucible stage this evening to celebrate the release of his new album Truelove's Gutter.
The performance is one of a number of events organised as part of the Housewarming season, prior to the Crucible's official reopening in February.
Other shows will include a night with Germaine Greer on December 7, and a night with Sir Ian McKellen on December 14.
Daniel Evans, the new artistic director at Sheffield Theatres,
said: "We are celebrating the soon to be completed redevelopment with a series of exclusive housewarming events, giving people the opportunity to see what we have done and rediscover this unique theatre.
"We have drawn numerous exciting artists to work with us as we put the finishing touches to the building and make final preparations for our official reopening in February 2010."
Tickets for all shows are available from the box office on 0114 2496000.
