Human remains found on east coast beach

A HUMAN foot has been found on a beach in north-east Lincolnshire.

The grisly discovery was made by a member of the public walking along Cleethorpes beach near Grimsby on Wednesday evening.

The police were called and the foot was taken for examination.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "Enquiries are now under way to identify any possible missing person in and around the region to whom the body part may belong."

"At this time no identity has been established and police officers and forensic experts form the force will be working with the coroner to conduct further enquiries."

Local officers are continuing to search the part of the beach where the foot was discovered, close to the Meridian Point off King's Road.
