Leeds United footballer banned for drink driving
LEEDS United footballer Fabian Delph has been banned from driving for 18 months and fined £1,400 for drink driving.
Delph, 19, whose home address is in Bradford, was almost twice the legal limit when police pulled him over two days before Christmas.
Magistrates in Leeds were told the teenager was stopped by police at Richmond Court, Rothwell, on December 23.
The England Under-21 international was breathalysed and the test revealed he had 66 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Having admitted a charge of drink driving, Delph was fined 1,400, disqualified from driving for 18 months, ordered to pay 60 costs and a victim surcharge of 15.
