Lottery boost for museum's quilt collection

The project to provide a museum for The Quilters' Guild of the British Isles received 193,500 yesterday from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Guild, which has the largest collection of quilts and related artefacts in the UK, has relocated its national headquarters and heritage collection from Halifax. Its president, Janice Gunner, said: "This award from the Heritage Lottery Fund comes at an important time in the development of our new museum in York.
"The award, together with the enhanced facilities in St Anthony's Hall, will enable us to deliver a more comprehensive and sustained education programme relating to our Heritage Collection."
