M&S staff in bike effort to mirror Leeds 10k run

WHILE runners are pounding the streets of Leeds in the Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10k on Sunday, staff at one Marks & Spencer outlet will also be going the distance.

Jenny Robinson, manager of the Marks & Spencer outlet on the Crown Point Retail Park, in Leeds, and her staff will each cycle 10k on an exercise bike in the store.

Customers visiting the store will be asked if they would like to make a donation towards the appeal and if they would like to, can cycle themselves.

Up to 11,000 runners will join together in Leeds city centre on Sunday for the 2009 Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10K.

The event starts at 9am and the public are warned that roads for inbound traffic will close from 6.30am and for outbound traffic from 8am.

Various roads to the south of The Headrow will be re-opened from 10am and most of the roads north of The Headrow from 11.15am.

Some of the streets surrounding the City Library area, including part of The Headrow and the approaches to Millennium Square will remain closed until mid/late afternoon.
