Must-have Christmas toys in shops already
A TOY billed as this year's must-have Christmas gift hit the shops yesterday.
The figures based on hit CBeebies show Waybuloo are expected to be the most sought after toys by youngsters this December.
Waybuloo is a pre-school children's television series set in the fictional land of Nara.
The main characters are four "Piplings", De Li, Nok Tok, Lau Lau and Yojojo.
The toys are on sale in Tesco Extra stores.
Andy Myall, editor of toy industry magazine Toys 'n' Playthings, said: "Pre-school brands are often the most sought after in the toy market, as parents look to give their youngest kids presents featuring their favourite TV shows.
"With the large amount of promotion this year for both the programme and forthcoming activity around the toy line, it's looking like Waybuloo is going to be a big pre-school craze for 2009."
Lucy Williams, director for toys at Tesco said: "We know that getting the must-have toys for Christmas is really important for parents, and we hope that by making Waybuloo characters available with plenty of time to spare, all our customers will avoid disappointment."
