Nuisance 999 caller jailed for ASBO breaches

A WOMAN given an Anti Social Behaviour Order for repeatedly making nuisance 999 calls to North Yorkshire Police has been jailed for a second time after committing further offences.

Sharon Tinsley, of Quarry Moor Lane, Ripon, had already served 32 days in prison and complete three community orders when she appeared before York Crown Court today.

Judge James Spencer jailed her for two months and said: "Everyone is tired of her. They are fed up."

Among her latest breaches of the order, the 21-year-old called out police in the early hours of September 19 claiming her mother had taken away her house keys. After officers left, she called them again to allege her mother's partner had assaulted her.

At shortly after 4am the same day, she called again to report she had put something around her neck and was making her way to the bridge over the River Skell. Officers found her with a shoelace around her neck, sat on the bridge parapet.
