Ready for a taste of Fame

Members of the cast of Fame, from left, Annabelle Leetham, Sophie-Grace Coombes, Richard Thirlwall, Linzie Campbell, Abigail Thistleton, Hamish Smith, Will Mythum and Stephanie Bolshe, gear up for the production at the Grand Opera House in York.

More than 100 of the city's most talented young performers are working with a professional creative team to present the show. The singers and dancers, aged 10 to 21, have auditioned to get places in the cast and will work with professionals for two weeks before staging four performances of the musical.

Set in New York's legendary High School for the Performing Arts, Fame the Musical follows a group of eager and talented students from their first audition through to graduation in their quest for success. The Grand Opera House will present Fame from Thursday to Saturday, August 6 to 8. Shows start at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets are 12.50 or 8.50 for children. The box office is on 0844 847 2322.
