Rock stars line up for Yorkshire forest gig
ROCK bnd Keane has been unveiled as the latest to play an outdoor gig at Dalby Forest near Pickering next summer.
The band will perform in a natural tree-lined auditorium in North Yorkshire's biggest woodland on June 25.
The area has an audience capacity of 5,000.
Previous acts to play the 8,600 acre venue include Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker and The Beautiful South. Cash raised by the gig will be used to care for woodlands across North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley.
Organiser Paul Cody said: "It's another fantastic name to add to the Dalby play-list and a tribute to the pulling power of the forest."
Keane have had three consecutive number one albums selling a total of ten million.
Tickets, which go on sale this Friday, cost 32.00 plus booking fee from 01842 814612 or www.forestry.gov.uk/music and www.keanemusic.com.
