Senior sells off World Cup medal on eBay
RUGBY star Keith Senior is selling a World Cup medal on eBay.
The medal was awarded to the Leeds Rhinos powerhouse after he was a member of the England team that competed in the Rugby League World Cup in Australia two months ago.
A description of the item on eBay describes it as an: "England Rugby League world cup players medal, awarded to an England player. Complete in original box."
Yesterday a bid of 510 had been received for the item. Bidding ends on Monday.
A number of other items are also currently for sale including Leeds Rhinos kit. In November last year the rugby star sold a rugby league world cup shirt worn for the England v New Zealand match for 410.
Last December he sold an England shirt he wore in another World Cup game for 257.01. On eBay it is described as: "Match worn Rugby League World Cup 2008 shirt, from first game PNG v England, size large, worn by Keith Senior, number 4."
The seller's eBay history also shows a number of other items have been sold including Leeds Rhinos kit.
In the Rugby League World Cup, England were knocked out by New Zealand in the semi-final.
Senior is currently training in Florida with the Rhinos.
Last night a spokesman for Leeds Rhinos said selling items on eBay was something that many other people did.
He said: "It's not a winner's medal, they were given to players that competed in the tournament.
"Keith is free to do with his private life with his own personal possessions the same as you or I.
"If you go onto eBay and type in world cup medal you will find hundreds of medals," he added.
