Servelec's power play as group expands with Scottish acquisition
David Parkin Business Editor CONTROL systems business CSE-Servelec Group has continued its expansion with the acquisition of Scomagg in Scotland.
The purchase of Scomagg, which provides system integration services to the oil and gas, power generation, utilities and food and beverage industries, will increase Sheffield-based CSE-Servelec's 17m turnover by 40 per cent.
Scomagg, which employs 100 staff and operates from offices in Aberdeen, Motherwell and Rotherham, provides a range of technology consultancy services, information management and systems integration and system support services for many blue chip clients in the public and private sectors. CSE Servelec employs 230 people and makes control systems for sectors including airports, healthcare and the water industry.
It sees the acquisition of Scomagg as complementing its existing operations as well as providing a base to expand activities within the oil and gas, power generation, water and utilities and food and beverage sectors.
Scomagg has a strong presence in the North Sea oil and gas sector.
CSE Servelec is part of Singapore-based CSE Global and operates in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Alan Stubbs, managing director of CSE Servelec Group, said: "Scomagg will become a key part of the CSE Servelec Group's expansion."
