Sex tourism boss's killing 'ordered on Facebook'

A FORMER friend of a sex tourism firm's chief who was victim of a cold-blooded execution-style killing allegedly ordered his murder on the internet Facebook site, an inquest has heard.

Christopher Hartley, 45, who had been linked from his home in Tingley, Leeds, with a sex holiday business called Eastern Delights, had fallen out with the 35-year-old ex-friend, the hearing at Huddersfield Coroner's Court was told.

A detective told a coroner at the opening of the inquest on Wednesday the 35-year-old had allegedly begun a relationship with a woman and apparently wanted Hartley "sorting out". He sent a series of coded Facebook messages to a 39-year-old ex-convict and friend, with whom he had shared a cell in 2001.

Mr Hartley, who also ran a car dealership, was found with shotgun wounds to his head and chest next to his Jaguar car in Litherop Lane between Clayton West and High Hoyland, near Huddersfield, on September 8.

Two men, one from the North- East and another from West Yorkshire, have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to murder.

The sex business, Eastern Delights, offered men the chance to spend 10 nights in the Philippines with a female escort.

For 1,695 clients were promised return flights to Manila, airport transfers, 10 nights bed and breakfast in a four-star hotel and a 24-hour tour escort "to attend to your every need".

Four other men arrested in connection with the murder, have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
